God52 & what it means to me

So, it’s been a while since I posted last. Life, as always continues at a ridiculously manic pace – ed psych meetings, occupational therapy meetings, ENT appointments, ASD courses, meetings at Daniel’s school. It’s felt for a while that it’s all been about Daniel and Aspergers.

On top of that trying to be a good husband and a father to Thomas who appears to be suffering from second child syndrome at the moment.

Oh and do youth work.

Oh and spend time with God.

He seems to have slipped to the bottom of the pile. Exactly where He shouldn’t be. I need Him to be first. I need Him to be in all and over all. Not an afterthought.

So when this God52 idea sprung up I was super excited! For those of you who haven’t heard about God52 it’s an idea started by the editor of Youthwork Magazine – Martin Saunders which quickly caught on with a lot of people. The simple explanation is that it’s an exercise in improving how we live as Christians. Instead of just talking the talk, deliberately setting goals and objectives to help us walk the walk.

Each week a new challenge is set to help focus our actions on God and on others. You can check out the blog here http://god52.wordpress.com/.

Anyway, the reason this got me so excited was that this gave me a focus to put God back where He belongs. A new challenge each week dedicated to God that I could get my teeth into.

I’ve got more thoughts to share on the challenges so far. But I’ll save those for another post.
